Engine Room Simulator Course for MEO Class 4 in Chennai
The course “Engine Room Simulators – Operational Level – MEO CLASS IV (ERS)” lasts for three days (21 hours) and it provides the required training as per the IMO Model course 2.07 and it satisfies the simulator training requirements for Engineers at the operational level as per Table A-ll/1 of STCW Code as amended.
After completing the above course, the trainee would be having practical experience about operating and maintaining engine room machinery and would contribute more effectively as a member of the engine room team both normally and during emergencies.

Eligibility for ERS Course
The following are some of the requirements that one must fulfill in order to participate in the ERS Course:
Successful completion of Pre-sea engineering course as per Training, Examination and Assessment Program (TEAP) Part A Flow Diagram lll/1 which is conducted by DG Shipping.
A minimum period of 6 months experience at sea in a manned engine room or periodically unmanned engine room on board a ship which is propelled by main propulsion machinery having power output of 750 kW or greater as First Assistant to the Engineer Officer.
