IGF Course (BIGF) – DG Shipping Approved Basic IGF Fuel Safety Training
The IGF Course, officially known as Basic Training for Ships Using Fuels Covered Within the IGF Code (BIGF), is a mandatory STCW training course approved by DG Shipping. Eligibility for BIGF Course

- Age Requirement
- Must be at least 18 years old. .
- Educational Qualification
- Minimum qualification: 10th pass.
- Must possess a valid Indian CDC.
- Any seafarer who has completed the four Basic Safety Courses, under STCW Regulation VI/1 and Section A-VI/1.
- Nationality & Identity Proof
- Valid passport or national identity document (as per country regulations).
- No Criminal Record
- Some training institutes may require a police clearance certificate if you had any record of offense.
- E-Learning Requirement:
As per DG Shipping Guidelines, candidates can only appear for the final examination (Exit Exam/Institute Exam) after successfully completing the E-Learning Module of the course.
