AFF Course in Chandigarh

The Advanced Fire Fighting (AFF) Course is part of an STCW-approved safety training program intended to prepare seafarers who have fire-fighting and emergency response responsibilities on ships with advanced levels of knowledge about preventing fires on ships, fire chemistry, and properties of fire in the shipboard environment. The course emphasizes the organization and operation of fire-fighting teams during a large-scale fire. Trainees are trained to properly utilize breathing apparatus, personal protective equipment, fire-fighting tools, and fixed fire-extinguishing systems. Additionally, there is a significant amount of practical training included in the course, where students will experience simulated fire situations such as inside an engine room, accommodation space, a fuel fire, and a chemical fire. There is also an emphasis placed throughout the AFF Course on leadership, communication, decision-making under duress, and team coordination. Successful completion of the AFF Course will enhance seafarers' abilities to perform their responsibilities more effectively to protect the lives and property of others and the marine environment, and exercise their authority as fire-fighting team leaders during critical fire situations aboard vessels.
