Who is Eligible for CHEMCO/ATTCO Course.
For attending CHEMCO, you are required to qualify on all of the following points.
- Hold a Certificate of Proficiency as a Rating in charge of a Navigational or Engineering watch, OR have completed the required sea time necessary for taking a Certificate of Competency examination.
- The officer should possess a valid Certificate of Competency.
- Hold Certificate of Proficiency for Basic Training in Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations.
- At least three months of accepted service at sea on chemical carriers within 60 months.Alternatively,
- Have completed at least one month of approved training onboard a chemical tanker in a supernumerary qualification in connection with at least three loading and unloading operations, as per section B-V/1 of the STCW Code.
Medical Fitness:
- Must be medically fit according to the standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
- A medical fitness certificate obtained from an approved doctor is needed.
- Vision and hearing must be up to required standards.
