- Certified Officers
- Hold a valid Certificate of Competency as Master, Chief Mate, or Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch.
- For Deck Trainees
- Deck trainees who have completed the minimum required sea service to appear for the Certificate of Competency as Second Mate [FG] or NWKO (NCV), and have successfully completed the following Directorate General of Shipping-approved courses:
- Radar Observer Simulator Course (ROSC)
- Automatic Radar Plotting Aids (ARPA)
- Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS)
- Medical Fitness
- Must be medically fit as per the International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.
- A medical fitness certificate from an approved doctor is required.
- Vision and hearing should meet the required standards.
- E Learning Requirements
- As per DG Shipping Guidelines, candidates can only appear for the final examination (Exit Exam/Institute Exam) after successfully completing the E-Learning Module of the course.
