The AIGF course (Full form: Advanced Training For Ships Using Fuels Covered Within The IGF Code) is a mandatory 5-day program. It is designed to meet the minimum training and certification requirements for Masters, Deck Officers, Engineer Officers, and personnel with immediate responsibility for the care and operation of fuels and fuel systems on ships subject to the IGF Code. This training complies with Regulation A-V/3 and Section A-V/3-2 of the STCW Convention, 1978, as amended. Eligibility for LGTF Course

To attend the AIGF Course, you need to clear all of the points mentioned below. 

Seafarers who have successfully completed the four Basic Safety Training courses, in accordance with STCW Regulation VI/1 and Section A-VI/1, and hold at least one of the following:            

  • A Certificate of Competency as an Officer on Watch
  • A Certificate of Proficiency as a Watchkeeping Rating 

Additionally, participants must hold a Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) in Basic Training for Ships Using Fuels Covered Within the IGF Code.

Medical Fitness

 E-Learning Requirement:-

  • As per DG Shipping Guidelines, candidates can only appear for the final examination (Exit Exam/Institute Exam) after successfully completing the E-Learning Module of the course

Documents Required for AIGF Course

 To apply for the AIGF course you need a list of documents such as:

  • INDoS Id
  • Certificates for Four Basic Safety Training Courses (as per STCW Regulation VI/1):

  3. Elementary First Aid
