Eligibility for CHEMCO/ATTCO Course
You will need to qualify all of the following to attend CHEMCO:
- Hold a Certificate of Proficiency as a Rating in charge of a Navigational or Engineering watch, OR have completed the required sea time necessary for taking a Certificate of Competency examination.
- The officer has to possess a valid Certificate of Competency.
- Certificate of Competence in Basic Training in Oil and Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations.
- Not less than three months of approved sea service on chemical carriers in the last sixty months. Have completed at least one month of approved training on board a chemical tanker with supernumerary qualification relating to at least three loading and unloading operations as required by section A-V/1 of the STCW Code.
Medical Fitness:
- Must be medically fit, as per standards set by International Maritime Organization (IMO).
- A medical fitness certificate from an approved doctor has to be acquired.
